Marvin Mizell

Marvin Mizell graduated from U.C. Davis School of Law in 1996.  He has worked for the California Department of Justice as a deputy attorney general for 22 years.   Mr. Mizell served as the President of the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association in 2002, and President of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) in 2012.   He has served as a reviewer and interviewer for the SDCBA’s Diversity Fellowship Program since 2014.  Mr. Mizell also served on the State Bar’s Council on Access and Fairness, and as a board member of the Crawford Law Academy, from 2015-2018.   He received the Citizenship Award from then California Attorney General Kamala Harris in 2013, and the Frederick Douglass Community Service Award from the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association in 2003.  Mr. Mizell is also a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
