Meet some incredible students. This fall, for the first time ever, California Lawyers Foundation (CLF) awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to high school, undergraduate, and law school students. More than 100 students applied from schools across our state, far exceeding all expectations. The applicants were competitive and the stories impressive, making award decisions extremely difficult. The need is incredibly great.
How did we do it? With your help, and as our scholars shared, “Because You Believed!”
CLF is approaching its second year of the Billable Hour Campaign. Our goal is to reach 100 donors to give the equivalent of just one billable hour to support talented students from under-served communities. We are halfway to this goal. To those who have contributed, a huge “Thank You.” But as driven professionals, we never do anything halfway. We give our best… to our clients, our customers, our colleagues, our profession, and to the future of law.
Your financial contribution helps provide scholarship, mentorship, and educational programs for thousands of students each year.
Since my last letter, CLF and the California Legal Pathways Collaborative (CLPC) have established two new high school based law academies in Fresno and Pasadena, California reaching out to dozens of additional sophomores through seniors interested in pursuing a profession in the legal field. It is remarkable to witness how engaged these students are to learn and make a difference alongside committed judges, attorneys, law enforcement officials, and community volunteers.
With your contribution, we can continue to turn dreams into reality. Please give just one billable hour.
Because you believed.
Thank you,

Chris Nguyen
