What is a Shotgun Scramble?
A shotgun scramble is a popular golf tournament format where all players start at different holes at the same time, and the tournament ends at about the same time. This allows for a quicker pace of play and ensures everyone finishes around the same time.
How it works:
Team Play: Players are typically divided into teams of 2, 3, or 4 players.
Tee Positions: Each hole on the course is the starting hole for at least one group. For example, group one starts at hole one, group two starts at hole two, and so on.
Best Shot: After each shot, the team selects the best ball and plays their next shot from that location.
Play: Players continue along the course in order from the hole where they began. For example, if a player starts at hole 15, they will then move to hole 16-18 and then continue to hole 1 and play through 14.
Finish: All players finish at close to the same time.
